Great resource
Very informative.
Clear and effective.
As a teacher, I appreciate the "common sense" approach that Dr. Giler advocates in her book. I only wish this user friendly book was available when I first began teaching. Dr. Giler addresses the types of teasing which these children must endure. She also discusses the meaning of tone and its significance in others' feeling so that these youngsters can best assimilate into the culture of youth. These issues, so important to a normal and healthy childhood have never been addressed. I hope that Dr. Giler continues to work on these rarely discussed social interactions. Julie A. Hanks, Ph.D.
Dr. Giler has taken a complicated subject and made it simple without being simplistic. A must read for teachers, parents and therapists.J.D. Doyle, M.A., retired Professor California State University Northridge
Very helpful for teachers. Gives solid information for helping kids solve social problems. This is a book every school and teacher should have as a resource.
This book shines a light on so many ways to help children with these issues. The section on how to handle teasing is fabulous!I am a family therapist & will definitely recommend it to several of my clients. What a great book for teachers, as well!
